Good morning, and welcome back to the present!

Today is Sunday. I hope you enjoyed our tiptoe through a handful of favorite moments from the past year. But now, it’s time to gather at the water’s edge and watch the tide go out on 2023.

In the early hours of the morning tomorrow, cleansed by the great cosmic churn, the water will triumphantly swish back into the bay and herald the arrival of a new year.

Now’s your chance: Place in the water all those things you don’t want to take with you into the new year. Set it afloat and let it go. Let’s use this opportunity to make some space before we set out again tomorrow.

“Year’s end is neither an end nor a beginning but a going on, with all the wisdom that experience can instill in us.”

—Hal Borland

See you next year,

Clara

p.s.—If you’ve read this far in today’s email, you’re the ideal person to answer the following question. It relates to our tiptoe through the archives this week, and something I’ve been noodling for a while. Your answers are anonymous, and I’d be grateful for your input. Thank you!
