Good morning! It’s Tuesday, and look who oversaw our monarch emerging from her chrysalis yesterday: my only dahlia! Apparently it’s one of the greatest honors you can receive in the garden kingdom, having a monarch caterpillar choose you for its chrysalis. Our dahlia took her responsibility very seriously, stretching her bright petals as far as they’d go to distract predators until her young charge could fly on her own. Well done, dearest dahlia!
How beautiful❣️So glad you got one! I had ZERO pink ones but quite a few small charming (but not elegant) yellow ones from a plant originally purchased at a grocery store, to use for color in a pot arrangement on the patio (the way some do, you know 🙃)! I give her big Bravas every year just for coming back to me.❤️
Just after reading this, I walked down the steps for my walk. On the right is a gladiolus stalk getting ready to bloom! She is four weeks later than her friends. It’s almost as if it is her job to wave hello to fall!!!! How glorious!

There's just one thing I'd like to know: Who's going to be illustrating your forthcoming children's garden book? :)
Awwww! I absolutely loved todays quote! It’s amazing what butterflies go through!
What a wonderful way to welcome the young monarch! She really did a lovely job.

What A beautiful Dahlia! I’m surprised the butterfly flew away!
If everyone could speak with nature as you do, the world would be a better place.
Well done Dahlia, well done!
I so appreciate how you give voice to all creatures and plants ! If we could join in their conversations !!!
Clara, ' Well done, dearest dahlia!' - this is one reason I look forward to your posts. D
