Good morning!

It’s Tuesday, and look who oversaw our monarch emerging from her chrysalis yesterday: my only dahlia!

Apparently it’s one of the greatest honors you can receive in the garden kingdom, having a monarch caterpillar choose you for its chrysalis. Our dahlia took her responsibility very seriously, stretching her bright petals as far as they’d go to distract predators until her young charge could fly on her own. Well done, dearest dahlia!

“Love consists in this, that two solitudes protect and touch and greet each other.”

—Rainer Maria Rilke

Onwards,

Clara

How beautiful❣️So glad you got one! I had ZERO pink ones but quite a few small charming (but not elegant) yellow ones from a plant originally purchased at a grocery store, to use for color in a pot arrangement on the patio (the way some do, you know 🙃)! I give her big Bravas every year just for coming back to me.❤️
