You've got more leaves left than on our exposed hillside in Hope. We are about 95 percent bare, especially after today's blustery weather. I've always said our older son was born in November to bring joy to a gray month! How is he almost 31?

Beautiful. And what a great harbinger of the season to come. I am one of the few people I know who love winter, and really miss West Virginia mountain winters. A favorite memory of mine is sitting in my log room studio, weaving away while the fire blazed in my stone fireplace, and watching a majestic red fox, tail high, trotting down the fence line in the gently falling snow.

Really beautiful. Out of the corner of my eye I caught a glimpse of a single leaf or two fluttering down… or was that a bird?

If you watch the video on a large monitor you can actually see several leaves falling - I'm amazed at how good they are at hiding!

I went out to my spot by my porch this morning with my tea, and heard that and also smelled the leaves--a blend of clove, allspice, nutmeg with a touch of cinnamon. I'm going to make a cup of Celestial Seasonings Gingerbread Spice tea and go back out there 💖😌

Our two indoor cats believe the trajectory of each falling one must be diligently tracked. Leaf TV is very popular (except during naps and meals, of course).

It's funny how cats get fascinated by those things, my four have Leaf and Bird TV, plus Deer TV at night.

There are still some lovely trees here. However, there are lots of bare ones as well! I try to find the beauty in them as well.

When the trees are bare, you can notice their bark more. Some have very interesting textures and color in bark.

Truly lovely. Here we are in the russet of oaks phase, muted color and rustling.

We are almost into the oak and beech phase. After that comes the grand finale, the tamaracks' show, needles turning bright yellow.
