How nice to watch the wind crawl closer to us.

This is really lovely! I love the view, and the sounds. Fall is here!

This was exactly what I needed! I love the sound of the wind whispering through the plants it’s so soothing!

Ooohhh, soon those bits of debris will become....buried treasure!

thank you. You live in a most beautiful area of the world. I miss Maine so much. The month we are able to stay there each year does not begin to be enough.

I could watch that dancing grass forever! Nature has triumphed again and the result is beautiful! Thanks Clara.

Aren't we lucky to live in Maine? I have a pastoral view here in Hope...north toward Liberty and Union and, on a night with clouds, we can see the clouds underlit by Bangor way to the North. I envy your closeness to the salt water! If I win the lottery I will never fly coach again (first) and then live within sight, smell and sound of salt water (in Maine of course!).

you are so lucky. We stay in Hope a week or two each year, and I think it is a peaceful place to be. My husband loves to be able to take photos of the night sky, as it is not light polluted. Such serenity.

Yes... at certain times of year, if it's not cloudy, I can see the Milky Way when I walk to dog for his before-bed amble.... It is indeed peaceful and filled with good people. Expect in two decades or likely less I'll end up moving closer to my son (just west of Portland), which will put me near him and about 90 minutes from the younger one who is in Mass. Enjoy your visits and DO support Sparky's Maple Syrup (available at the General Store which is next to the town office, may also be available at Pushaw's)--it's harvested and boiled down about 2 miles from me!

Sadly, neither the embedded video nor the link will play for me. This has been true for several weeks now. The embedded ones used to work just fine! do you know whether something has changed with Vimeo? Enjoy this gorgeous day!

Sorry to say that the video works fine for me--at least in my browser. I clicked on the image in my email and it immediately opened the post in Safari (I'm on a MacBook). Did your device/laptop do an update? There may have been a change in settings... I'm fairly new here so don't know if it used to play within MacMail.

I'm also on a MacBook. Yes, it has recently done several updates. I have never used MacMail. Now what?

I just looked at the email again and it looks as though the video has about a 2-3 second loop within email (what software do you use if not the one on the Mac? Some sort of web-based email?) because I can see the grasses waving, but it doesn't appear to be the full minute that I see online. I'd just click the link and watch it in the browser!

Many thanks for all your help troubleshooting! I'm not tech savvy.

Safari. Right. It was a 2-3 second loop. But a few minutes ago, clicking on the image opened up the full video -- which wasn't happening before. I'm blaming my internet provider.... Wish I had another one available, but I don't.

That might be it! I hear you. We have a choice of ONE company. I'm actually glad it is a smaller local (midcoast Maine) company and not some national company like Spectrum or Verizon that doesn't care about an individual customer. I begged our local company for years that if/when we got fiber in the area could we PLEASE be among the first to get it, and we were. We were far enough from the base station that we couldn't get the fasted. Even now, at 100 mbps (the fastest available) it is laughably slow compared to urban areas, but I'm happy with it. As for tech savvy, I've had to become my own IT department--I hate it LOL! Glad I could maybe help. ENJOY your Sunday!

Oh dear. I just checked the Vimeo link and it does go to a functioning video. (Maybe a week ago, one of the uploads failed and the link didn’t work, so it does happen.) I’m wondering what device/browser you’re using? Is anyone else reading these comments having problems? And I’m curious if this is just an email issue or does it also happen if you visit today’s respite on the web? https://dailyrespite.substack.com/p/november-17-2024

Actually the “Substack” gremlin has been interfering with my peace and enjoyment for at least two or three weeks. iPhone or iPad, either one! Usually i manage to get past it. I removed the app from my iPad last week!

So now, 2 hours later, when I click on the image in my original email from you it works fine. I'm going to blame Spectrum.

Thank you. This worked fine. When I used the link in my email I got a VimeUhOh. Sigh.

You are a bringer of peace and calm which bring me hope and determination. 🙏🏻. And how is little Ducky these days?

Ducky is doing well! He’s been chatting with the Buddha who sits at the window by my sewing machine. I think they’re plotting a craft project?

A Zen water one I bet.
