Good morning! It’s Monday. And while those birch catkins benefited from being moved out of the road last week, the seed that formed this white pine needed no help from me. The wind carried it onto a small clump of very hospitable moss nestled in the crack of a massive granite ledge. There, the seed germinated into this beautiful tree whose roots may one day, in their perpetual quest for water and nutrients, split the mighty ledge in two.
Thanks so much for the Howard Zinn quote and that beautiful little white pine. The Iroquois call the pine the Peace Tree, because it was under a pine tree where the Iroquois nations made their peace and stopped warring with each other.💖😌🌲
I too, thank you for your amazing ability to give us all something promising, beautiful and inspiring each and everyday. I don't know how you do it Clara! You are a role model extraordinaire and I strive to be more hopeful and nonjudgemental as you are. Your consistent small acts of positive thinking and awe at the beautiful are so incredibly helpful and needed in these time especially. Thank you thank you thank you!!
I want to second Colleen Ware’s soulful comment. Would that we could move back the clock to a time when we had newspapers featuring columnists and that you would be one of them read across the nation. However, I’m just so very grateful you are here on this platform every day sharing wise observations that keep us moving forward, as well as the most perfect quotes.
YES! Your metaphor was certainly not lost on me. Just hope that those who really need to read it, do. And Zinn puts the icing on the cake! Thank you for this.
Clara. Do you remember "back in the day" when there were columnists syndicated across multiple papers all over the country? I wish that were still true, and that you were one of the columnists. The world needs this each and every day.
Bless you both: Clara, and Howard Zinn❣️So uplifting, and we need a lot uplifting as well as guidance, at the moment …
I love the idea of small acts adding up to make a difference.
I’m late to the party but this quote was uplifting- thanks!
Exactly the reminder we need these days😊
