Hahahaha the ever ongoing battle. All my weeds eventually have flowers too!

Well over here in the opposite upper corner of the map we would just switch the word hawkweed to tansy ragwort.

Apparently in Europe hawkweed isn't a weed, but a medicinal herb used to make cough syrup. The supposedly lovely garden plant that turned into a weed for me was pink evening primrose. In other people's gardens they formed beautiful mounds of pink flowers. In our yard they spread everywhere like a disease. We had to dig up one flowerbed completely three times before we eliminated them.

I applaud your resilience and resolve with the flowerbed.

We're disappointed that we only have a few yellow hawkweed this year. We regularly mow around it (as we do with buttercups, et al) but this year the orange is only showing up on I-89 in spots. Perhaps we should start pulling it up!

I’m fairly certain my mom has these growing in her garden. They are very pretty! Love the quote today!

Well, I must’ve seen hawkweed, and not known what it was! (Just googled it.😊) Would prefer the orange, tho, and I know I have not seen that one! My dandelions must have squeezed them out.😄

I love this! I have not seen these “wildflowers”, that I recall. They are terrific! And I also appreciate the idea of your detente, regarding them. My mother loved dandelions. 😄 And for the last few years, I have too! The color! And they are the first show of Spring! And then the deer daintily snip off the flowers one by one for a treat❣️

At my place, the deer and rabbits love to eat dandelions.

I laughed and laughed at this tale of the errant hawkweed! I fight ivy and False Lammium every day of my life it seems. The hawkweed does present a pretty face. Thank you for the laughter.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Weeds do tend to take over. Sometimes it can feel like a losing battle. Enjoy your bouquet, but keep those weeds at bay.
