Watch now | Good morning! It’s Sunday, and the ground has frozen enough for us to walk down to the water without having to wear mud boots or cleats. The buoy is being especially vocal this morning, but the bay is managing to make its opinions known to all who’ll listen.
Good morning! All of our water is “like a stone” as the song “In the Bleak Midwinter “ states. It must be wonderful, if chilly, to be able to go down to open water. Thanks for the glimpse of something quite different.
If I win the lottery, my lifelong dream has been to live within sight, smell and sound of salt water. A close walk would be an eminently acceptable second choice. I'm also reminded of Stephen King's phrasing in his memoirs about the well of creativity...the water is free, go drink it up... I'll see if I can find it for later in the week or Friday.
Well that turned out to be easy. From On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft, one of my two favorite books on creativity, the other being Twyla Tharp's The Creative Habit (just plug in your favorite medium or several when King talks abut writing or Twyla talks about dance0.
p.270: "The rest it--and perhaps the best of it--is a permission slip: you can, you should, and if you're brave enough to start, **you will** (italics are King's). Writing is magic, as much the water of life as any other creative art. The water is free. So drink. (Paragraph break) Drink and be filled up."
Just browsing through my copious underlinings from 2007/8 makes me excited to read this all over again. May need to add it to a "to read" [again] pile. I need a kick in the butt.
Music to my heart. Thank you. Thank you.
I like hearing the sound of the buoy it’s a nice little bonus with the soothing sounds of water greeting the shore!

The perfect way to start the day. ❤️
What A lovely walk today! Wonderful quote!
Love going down to the water with you, even though I'm sure it must be quite chilly!

Thanks so much❣️
Ahhh, such good words!
Love these “watery” Sundays. The quote was terrific and it will be saved in my Quotes I Like document. Thanks Clara ♥️
What a great document to have, Peggy. Thank you for sharing that idea.🩷
