Good morning! It’s Saturday, and it’s the 270th birthday of Alexander Hamilton. Born out of wedlock in the West Indies and orphaned as a child, Hamilton would go on to become an American revolutionary, military officer, statesman, Founding Father, and first Secretary of the Treasury.
A cousin of mine read it, and told us so much about him, and then got tickets to the play for all of us - early on before it got so expensive. We were so lucky.
Lovely!
Love that quote!!
Wonderful😊
That quote gives me chills. What profound words, and truths.
His story once again reminds us how very important it is to give everyone a chance and a helping hand.
He lived the American dream even before there was an America!
And O M G we are so grateful to Lin-Manuel Miranda!!!
When facing such a life and such exquisite eloquence, all I can say is “Wow, what a guy!”
Beautiful and brilliant, Clara.
I’m curious as to how that leaf was made into a piece of art by nature.
someone got a meal.
I guess I should listen to my original cast recording, huh?
Way to go from sunny Lo(ndon) ✌️
His quote is about to be tested.
Everyone has a place, no matter how distant
If only we all knew this: can never be erased or obscured by mortal power.
Step by step I find my place! (My word for the year is "steps").
Yes!
Happy birthday 10 dollar bill man. LOL 😆
We must be ever watchful to see that Hamilton’s words remain our reality.
Fabulous post & quote.
I hope someday to read the biography of Hamilton written by Ron Chernow that inspired Lin-Manuel Miranda.
