Good morning!
It’s Saturday, and it’s the 270th birthday of Alexander Hamilton. Born out of wedlock in the West Indies and orphaned as a child, Hamilton would go on to become an American revolutionary, military officer, statesman, Founding Father, and first Secretary of the Treasury.
While some of the lesser-known Founding Fathers may have faded into obscurity, Hamilton and his legacy became anchored in contemporary culture thanks to Lin-Manuel Miranda’s universally acclaimed hip-hop musical.
And that’s what I call a legacy.
“The sacred rights of mankind are not to be rummaged for among old parchments or musty records. They are written, as with a sunbeam, in the whole volume of human nature, by the hand of the divinity itself; and can never be erased or obscured by mortal power.”
—Alexander Hamilton
Onwards we go,
Clara
Happy birthday 10 dollar bill man. LOL 😆
We must be ever watchful to see that Hamilton’s words remain our reality.
