Watch now | Good morning! It’s Sunday. We’ve taken the bus over the Seine and wound our way past the Hôtel de Ville, across Rue de Rivoli, around the Square du Temple and Place de la République, briefly along the Canal Saint Martin, and snaked our way northeast until we could see trees. We pushed the button, waited for the bus to stop, and descended at the gates of the Parc des Buttes Chaumont, one of the largest green spaces in Paris.
On our first trip to France, I was amazed by the constant birdsong, but had no way of identifying any of the birds..on our second trip I used the Merlin app to discover who those beautiful songbirds were...it's become such a source of joy for me to listen for and identify new birds in my favorite country!
How beautiful. We have been gathering some delightful little birds at our feeder, but the squirrels mostly have possession. Nothing has deterred them yet. I wish I could be like Dr. Dolittle, and talk to them. There is a lot of spilled seed on the deck, and they are welcome to that, and the the birds would have undisturbed access to the feeder. I can but hope.
Birds can't taste the hot pepper (we've tasted it and it is H-O-T). But no mammels will eat it so it solves the problem of squirrels, mice, raccoons, possums, bears, chipmunks!
You are so right! In Costa Rica I was stunned to discover the rainforest I was touring was ground on which palm oil trees or bananas, no longer windfall crops, had been returned to nature. It was just under twenty years later and streams, trees, plants, birds and animals had returned.
I LOVE the reflection of light from under the bridge...it's like an illuminated orb beneath the surface of the pond, beckoning and promising to light the way
The video is calm and peaceful. Very nice --thank you.

Hot pepper bird seed. Works like a charm.
And it does not bother the birds?

Birds at A pond in the middle of green spaces is so much more beautiful than trash!
Thank you!
So nice to be reminded that there is a world outside of this mess in the US. Have some duck confit for me…
It takes a village to cooperate and make improvements for others !
New birds at the feeder today! Gold finch and I think white throated sparrow. Still waiting for the cardinal to return.
We had our first house finch returned today, and a female cardinal yesterday. Much activity going on.
So nice to see when we are frozen solid here. Love the sounds?
How lovely!
