Good morning!
I am speechless - except for the weeping. For joy? For wonder? For the blessing of Rachel Carson?
The first peepers always give me so much joy too!
Like the honking of geese, the cheeping of peepers immediately has me rolling my window down and trying not to squish any as I drive along. So spring!
Sweet sounds. At last!
I’ve loved this sound in many places I’ve lived - from coast to coast and many places in between!
A wonderful sound, like a spring alert: “Put up the screens! Open the windows!” Whoo hoo!
Thank you so much for this. I moved into the city 5 years ago and this sound is the one that I miss the most!
such a delicious racket !!
Yes! Whilst at my Maine homestead, the peepers were deafening. Oh, joy! When I caught the distant sound of some in my NH suburb!! ...soil and soul...
My cat wasn’t quite sure what to think about that, she came running over to me and tilted her head from side to side like my dog does 😂 I found it to be quite soothing!
Wow, just magical!
The only sounds I hear at night right now are a group of coyotes (in our suburban neighborhood) looking for a good time.
Oh dear! They always sound like a frat party gone awry, don’t they.
Absolutely. They're also hungry and helping themselves to any wayward pets they can find.
First of all , I am SO jealous of your porch! Second the peepers are A sure sign Spring has sprung!
Beautiful Clara. You should be hearing the trilling of the toads soon, too!💖😌🐸
What a lovely sound!
We made it, Clara! I shared my peepers on Thursday. It just gives me such joy when they return. 🥰
