I remember the first time I saw a thistle. I was scurrying up the side of a hill on my Tata’s property in the mountains when I came across it. It was so totally out of place and looked so alien to me. I immediately sought out my Tata to show him the strange plant and he happily told me about thistles and how they spread. I was probably around 6-7. I haven’t thought about that memory in quite a long time and seeing today’s post really made me smile. I also totally agree with the quote today!

Wow! This is so cool looking- is it soft? I have no thistle near me and had NO idea it does this at the end of its season. I love this picture Clara- thanks!

It's not as soft as milkweed but it's not like a needle either. Somewhere in the middle?
