Good morning! It’s our last Saturday in Paris, and the Jardin des Plantes is almost done setting up its Evening Lights Festival for the holidays. We took a stroll through the display a few days ago (in the rain, of course) to admire the enormous colorful statues of various animals and their habitats. As I was lamenting how we’d miss seeing everything lit up, a crow hopped down from a tree statue where he’d been observing us.
That had me laughing out loud! Sounds just like a Crow. They will straighten you up if they think something is amiss. It’s often a little sad to leave an adventure but exciting to get back home! Wishing you a smooth flight.
The crows have their own communication network then. I think by me the pollinators have a network. I was thinking about what I did this season to help them, then one afternoon I was coming back inside at work and I saw a lone hornet sitting on the pillar, warming up in the sun, another young queen getting ready for hibernation. Maybe she was saying, don't forget about us, we will be back in the spring.😌💖 Thank you for the photos and quote, such colorful figures.
If you're back in Maine soonr, you might want to check out the coastal botanical garden near Boothbay Harbor. They have a fantastic display of lights through Dec. 31, opened last night. Website is at mainegardens.org
Your post reminded me of a sweet novel, Perestroika by Jane Smiley. It's about a race horse that escapes and lives in the gardens of Paris and all the animals that help him.
What an amazing place - such beauty. Of course the crow spoke with you. I would expect no less. There was a message to be given and received. The quote is you - a sharer of love and life with all. Thank you for you, and for expanding my heart. Safe travels home. Maine is waiting.

Such a spectacular park. Gwendolyn Brooks' quote was so moving, and hopeful.
Fantastique❣️And don’t you just love Gwendolyn Brooks?!
That crow is such a deep dark black, it looks like velvet!
A lovely last Saturday❣️

I wouldn't help but picture this French crow in a tiny little beret!
Thank you Clara for your view of the world and willingness to share so lovingly!
In gratitude, Ceci

The world needs you, no one can be who you are, do what you do.
