Why, yes! Such a lovely place, our family has gone many times over the years, including some wonderful Thanksgivings with two of my sisters and their families, too!

I love this! Are you familiar (I expect you are) with Claire, the Swiss Shepherdess? She loves to find heart-shaped rocks and often shows them in her stories. Once I was out for a walk and came across leaves on the ground that were all heart-shaped, something I hadn't noticed while they were still on the tree-- I picked up three, all different colors (it was fall) and took them home, took a picture of them, and messaged her on Insta that while they aren't rocks, as soon as I saw them I thought of her and they made me so happy, just as her account does. It's really lovely when there are objects/shapes with universal meanings, isn't it.

Awww! I love finding heart shape rocks! My dad collects them for me so I have a bunch in my garden and in little jars in my house.

My heartfelt thanks back to you - what warmth and thoughtfulness you bring to all our lives.

Agree with the quote. When my youngest was married, she gave as her favors to everyone - a handmade lace refrigerator magnet with the word "Life is meant to be shared" on each, along with a packet of lupine seeds from the book Miss Rumphius by Barbara Cooney to make the world a more beautiful place. You do that on a dailly basis. I am very grateful.

I agree with all you say, and love the wedding favors! My daughter and her husband eloped during covid, hoping to have a wedding after things calmed down-- but a baby, a move, and a new house and new jobs later, they haven't gotten around to it yet-- she hopes to do it for their 5th or 10th anniversary as a renewal of vows. I'm going to show this idea to her!

Very wonderful find! The sweetest shape nature can create - a heart stone.

I found a heart shaped river rock many years ago near the Rose River in Syria Virginia where my husband and I honeymooned even longer ago. I cleaned my front porch yesterday in anticipation of the Great Plant Migration and carefully moved our heart rock to a new location.

Would that have been at the Graves Mountain Lodge perchance?

Heart-shaped stones are, for me, a sign that there is love to be found everywhere if we keep looking.

Aren't we? And it spreads from us outwards to those around. I forward the Daily Respite every day to my mom, my significant other, and a dear friend, all of whom tell me how much they look forward to it and it enriches their lives. (They prefer a forward to signing up themselves because then it's contact with me as well :-)
