Good morning! It’s Wednesday, and the lilacs have inspired the rest of the woods to dress up a bit. Even the striped maples, normally quiet and unassuming in their shady woodland attire, have festooned their branches with these spectacular earrings.
What a pleasure to see (for want of a better word) stuff in your area that I’ve either never seen or never noticed. I’m on a mission to notice more especially when outside. Thank you for your keen eye and delightful perspective.
I am continually amazed and delighted at the intricate, little accoutrements that plants produce--many of which I would never have the pleasure of seeing but for Clara's fine eye! :-D
Are striped maples the ones that make maple syrup? In our yard we only have silver maples, which don't. But they do make little helicopters that propel the seeds gently to the ground. I think I'd rather have the earrings, though.
My lilacs have been spectacular this year, too, Clara. And the peonies and mock orange aren't far behind. I love this time of year. I love your daily notes. Thank you.
I have never seen these wooded maple flowers. How beautiful. This afternoon I am going on a short (.?)hike in the Smokies. Wonder what I will discover there ?
The earrings are fabulous. Harry would have loved the. Continue to smell the lilacs!
Beautiful earrings maples! Thank you Clara.💖😌

Keep up the lilac updates, I can almost smell them!
Who knew that Striped Maples could do that?
They are so dainty!!

So much fun to discover new ways to look at things - “earrings”?

Good one after a certain age who cares

How do those lilacs smell? 😁
So beautiful! Have I mentioned how jealous I am about the lilacs? I’m going to have to plant some!
