Good morning! It’s Saturday. These sad little things don’t look like much, do they? Believe it or not, they are onions. Or they will be. It’s my favorite gardening ritual of the season, the planting of the onions. If we’re really lucky, they’ll take root and slowly grow into this year’s harvest. Their planting kicks off the next step in the season: Hauling the pile of hoses out from under the barn, untangling them, getting everything screwed back together properly, and dragging them down to the lower garden for the first official watering of the year. Many steps make a season.
