For me, the most evocative video you've ever posted. I don't live North now, but grew up there, and my mind has a memory of this exact scene and sound. This brought it out. Thank you.

So beautiful she says, sitting in front of her fire in her warm cozy house! You give me hope that I too could once again be strong and adventurous in the daunting cold of the North East. We are taking the train from Vancouver to Toronto to hug our daughter, grandkids and son in law. Hopefully my woolies will help me cherish that beauty in the actual cold.

Mary Oliver and snow against a pond [(that's a lake)(that's a pond)]. It doesn't get better.

What a lovely reminder to be present. Poor Maine has really been hit with the storms this late winter and early spring. I am glad you did not lose power.

A barely frozen bog! Clara, you have a way with words, with nature, a way with ideas! Thanks for a trip to the pond, with its bog like shore!

A retired lit prof friend of mine just started facilitating lit classes at an addiction recovery center. She began her first class with a Mary Oliver poem (not this one but one much like it). She said it wowed them. Mary Oliver amazes me by the range of people she speaks to.

What a lovely, peaceful video and perfect poem to start the day. Thank you for these moments of calm. (While our daughter’s dog and ours wrestle next to and into my chair - the total opposite of calm!😂)

Beautiful poem and video! It has been snowing for days here in Calgary Alberta. It is supposed to stop today and better weather is on the way. Very pretty but enough already!

I love this poem! I have learned so much from these daily emails and one thing I am so thankful for is being introduced to Mary Oliver’s poems!

My present just gave me something very beautiful. I had gone out in my spot by the bushes and my porch under the trees to have my tea. We had a few inches of snow yesterday, and it was cold and clear early this morning. The sunlight was making the snow crystals sparkle. I have seen that many times before, but as I watched, I noticed the crystals were starting to refract the sunlight and show the colors of the rainbow. I am probably the only person who saw that this morning. Thank you Clara.💖😌❄️🌈
