I just love Peonies! My Granpa had them growing with roses near the farmhouse. I love how the ants crawl inside and help the blooming process along.

Oh that's beautiful. I've been a bit down this morning missing the east. This gave me hope again..

You weave such whimsical stories, which we definitely need more of these days. And the quote is so true!

Thanks! And I’m sure it does. Question is, did his musing help him solve the case—I only remember snippets from the story.

I'm thankful to Trader Joes for bringing me peonies in California! I no longer have a garden and peonies don't grow here anyway, but TJs lets me enjoy cut ones every spring - in the moment and in memories of NH. (rabbit, rabbit rabbit...welcome July)

Your home must smell glorious from those three beauties. And honeysuckle on the way… an aromatic delight! We finally rolled into your sense-ational state last night and after 14 hours arrived at camp. Ahhhh, what a delight to be back.

Yup! It's from The Adventure of the Naval Treaty. Holmes was musing on a rose but I like to think what he said applies to all flowers. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Adventure_of_the_Naval_Treaty
