Wow, amazing! We've had a peony we transplanted a few years ago and keep watching. This proves we should keep watching for a while longer yet.

Clara, Does/Did your Great Grandfather's peony have a scent? We had white heirloom peonies at a former residence that didn't survive a move, and I still miss them. So few blooms have scent these days.... and scent adds so much to memory.

It has a sweet, almost roselike fragrance, yes!

Wow, that's great and it makes me so happy! I love heirloom plants. I have rambler roses from my Grandmother that have such a delicate scent, it transports me to her garden whenever they are in bloom. 🌹
