We grew artichokes this year for the first time, one plant and we ate seven artichokes from it. For curiosity’s sake, we let the last go. It turned into a beautiful bright purple thistle and the bees loved it. Until a white crab jumping spider grabbed one and sucked its juices out in front of me.
