When I saw the pic before reading your post, I thought it was cottonwood. It always looks like snow has fallen in my neighborhood.

Well, bah humbug! Resumed the Substack app, and yet —- still need to be “reauthenticated” [no such word, I’ll bet]! HOWEVER, I really DO NEED to tell you, Clara, I LOVE today’s story❣️

A friend posted the same thing to IG yesterday, but it was such an extreme close-up I wasn't quite sure what I was looking at! It must have been fair throughout NE yesterday!

Never heard this about spiders. For me it is aches and pains in my body that predicts a change of weather. Ours has been cool and rainy over the last while.

I don’t see spiders but I see a ghostly image of a tiny squirrel head in the forefront. Maybe wearing a trailing bridal veil.

I did not know this about spiders! I've always had the greatest respect and admiration for them, but to find out that they are also meteorologists...blows my little human mind a bit. Plus, now I have the whole laundry thing to think about. ;)

Always wish I were more in tune with Nature and her ways, with the sort of wisdom you provide almost daily. So, once again, thank you. 🙏🏻

Thank you!

The two forecasts I know are the spiders speaking their mind and that a mackerel sky (cloud formation that looks like the ripply striped pattern on a mackerel) predicts rain within 24 hours.

I’ve never heard that saying before but it’s a lovely way to view the dew covered webs, even if weather prediction these days is tricky. Thank you.
