If I've learned anything from The Daily Respite, there are definitely starflowers out there waiting for us.

Auto correct is my nemesis, also. It’s an oxymoron.

Taking a moment for a very needed break here at the office and a bit of Respite! Your flowers, your words, and that quote ...!!!... just what my weary head and heart needed. Thank you, thank you!

Hi Clara--I was about to say this was a new to me flower and thank you but I now see it is a STRAWflower!! I know them, just don't have in my yard! A friend of mine told me that the poet Andrea Gibson died and I was not familiar with her work; so she sent me a video of her reading 'Dying is the opposite of leaving'. It is so emotional and eloquent. I am tearing up just thinking about it. She makes death feel like a shawl we can hold close and treasure the one who is not easily seen.

Wow, those are so beautiful! I'll have to look at our garden center to try to find some. They'll be perfect in our 'rock' garden.

Thanks for the introduction, Clara!

My mother used to love strawflowers, and always had them on the mantle where our cat Willie would destroy them. Every time. And yet she persisted.
