Good morning!

It’s Tuesday. What’s that you say? Why am I showing you a picture of a dried up leaf stuck to my window?

Because this isn’t a dried-up leaf at all. It’s a Datana ministra moth, more commonly known as a yellowneck caterpillar moth. Isn’t it beautiful?

Our luxuriously camouflaged friend may or may not have just finished laying eggs among the oak and birch trees on the other side of the house. Or it might have preferred the apple trees this year, or perhaps a maple or two.

Or maybe, just maybe, it’s still waiting and hoping for Mr. or Mrs. Right to come along?
