I didn't know honeysuckle came in vine form. We have an enormous bush that much smaller flowers. Pollinators and birds love it, though it isn't as fragrant. Sounds dreamy.

That is some very healthy looking honeysuckle blossoms. The fragrance must be intoxicating. Enjoy.

My grandma had a huge honeysuckle that grew on her backyard fence. I remember her showing me how to get the nectar and thinking it was magical.

Dear Clara, thank you so much for these posts. I love getting a glimpse into your daily world. Here in the Pacific Northwest, we got a preview of the honeysuckle as they bloom earlier. Dream on!

I have gardenias right outside my bedroom window and on either side of our back patio. It's AMAZING like being inside your grandmother's perfume bottle.

All right. That’s it. I’m going to have to find a place to plant some honeysuckle in my small city backyard.

Do it! Just be sure you get the fragrant honeysuckle. There’s a really beautiful one that’s all talk, no action.

Did it! It will arrive in mid-September and I will shoehorn it in somewhere.

And, BTW, I wonder—would the Dalai Lama approve of meditating the month away—as an escape?

Hardly anything better than falling asleep to the aroma of honeysuckle! Because it’s invasive here in SW OH, it’s almost overpowering when it blooms…in early May this year. Nevertheless, it’s pretty fabulous—as is that closeup!

I agree sleep is the best medicine. I don’t think I have ever seen Honey Suckle up close before! Beautiful!

I love the shifts in bloom time between north and south - I associate the smell of honeysuckle with walking home from the school bus stop at the end of the school year, early to mid June.
