Good morning! It’s Friday, and I’ve been making my rounds through all the boulangeries within a five-minute walk of our apartment. One week in, and I still haven’t hit them all.
Tending to 2 of my beautiful grandchildren has made me A day late and more than A dollar short! Thank you for A much needed balm for the soul! That beautiful quote!
Oh Clara! How precious are your words that take me to a place that I may never see. I will look up crème anglaise. I don’t know what it is. I love the wonderful quote. Thanks for a wonderful way to wake up each morning.
There are very few ills that a little (or a lot of) crème anglaise wouldn’t cure—just my opinion! Also good to hold Nouwen’s words in our minds and practice during this inhumane time…
Thank you for this delight, and for sharing words from Henri Nouwen. Synchronicity(!): I just purchased a pre-loved copy of one of his books, and feel his humanity’s warmth and companionship. May you pause to bask in the warmth and light you share via the Daily Respite as well.

Late to the chase here - just wanted to mention that Henri Nouwen was born today (January 24) in 1932 in Nijkerk, Gelderland, Netherlands.
Mmmmmmmmm!
Perfect location! And I do still LOVE hearing from Brother Henri❣️ 🙏
Yum!! You paint such vivid pictures with your words and I absolutely love it!!
WOW! New bread delights each day!!! Surely a holiday to remember! The quote for today is perfect. Thank you.

What fun to have so many options for a tasty morning treat!
Wonderful quote!
Dreaming of macarons…
Dreaming of baguettes and crème anglaise…
The older we get, the more surprises we experience, some good, some not so much !
