Good morning! It’s Thursday, and there she is—meticulously restored by an international squadron of passionate and skilled artisans and reopened to the public.
I remember that terrible day, and then this Christmas when they had the first Christmas mass since the fire. I watched on YouTube, such a joyous event, and she looks beautiful at night. Thank you for the wonderful Howard Zinn quote.💖😌
❤️❤️❤️ I remember I was in Lugano Switzerland watching the fire and crying. Seeing Notre Dame had been on my bucket list since high school and we had a trip planned to Paris that year. I remember calling my best friend (totally forgetting the time zone difference) and telling her what was going on. Like a true bff she answered the phone. I’ve been following the reconstruction process on Facebook and seeing all the scaffolding come off and the photos from the inside just warms my heart.
There is strength in our broken places. The Notre Dame, and her many healers, is proof of this. Wonderful things can come from adversity. What a beautiful image of her strength!
Thank you for this ! The image of Notre Dame rising from the ashes like a phoenix is the epitome of hope after the horrible election and inauguration and all the resulting fallout.
So I was wondering if Shakespeare & Co. book store is still in Paris? If so, do you plan to go?
Notre Dame is so beautiful!
The reconstruction has been amazing as well as finding all the artisans with the skills to recreate what was in the way it was originally done.
A glorious gift to Paris and to France and to the world!
Gorgeous photo! And much needed quote for us now.
It’s amazing to see her in all her glory once again! Thanks for sharing the pic and the amazing quote today too.

I love this photo. Notre Dame is such a beautiful building. I'm so happy it's open again. I want to see it again to see what has changed.

Good words for a horrible week.
Sigh. Beautiful. Might be my favoritest respite yet - and I'm a sucker for all those Maine coast shots and whimsy.
