Good morning!
It’s Thursday, and in that magical realm of Respitopia, the pagoda dogwood is in full bloom. The bees are ecstatic about this, and we are ecstatic about the bees. By the sounds of it, a nearby catbird is happy too.
How marvelous to stand here and watch these humble insects go about their tasks with such energy and purpose and unity. Communal creatures by nature, bees divide up labor, share resources, make decisions collectively, and even nurse and care for one another, all for the good of the hive.
Seeing as bees pollinate around a third of the world’s food, their work is for the good of the human hive, too.
“Their little bodies lodge a mighty soul.”
