Oh, Clara, this is one of my favorite Pond videos. It felt so relaxing on this Sunday morning. The sun is out, and winter is so much brighter when it’s snow covered. Cold in mid-Michigan today, but not as bad as some of the rest of the country and Canada.
Zero here in Milwaukee after Friday's several inches of icy slush followed by about 5 inches of snow followed by another inch last night and ferocious winds. But the sun is out and last night's winds seem to have died down. A warmer-than-normal Lake Michigan kept our snowfall down but the suburbs and further west saw a foot or more of snow. I am sure after this week of deep freeze the Lake will no longer be warmer than normal. Hoping you will survive the bad weather that the TV shows Maine having. I always think of you. Stay safe, stay warm, knit! I'll be watching football and knitting. A good hot soup day.
That quote resonates with me today. I went out an hour ago, to start clearing the end of my driveway with my trusty favorite snow shovel, and it did not feel stressful, even with occasional gusts of wind and blowing snow. We have a driving ban in effect, so next to no traffic sounds. It was actually quite peaceful in the storm. Taking a snack and knitting break and will go out and finish the other half of the driveway after the lakeeffect band shifts to the south of me early this afternoon.💖😌❄️
I'm with you, Mary. I feel very "pioneerish" when I'm out shoveling and the snow and wind are whistling; in that weather, it's even peaceful when a car goes by because of the buffering snow on the road.
-35C with -43 windchill. I have been going out and my car starts without plugging in because it is an older Toyota and seems to run no matter what. Open water seems a luxury so I enjoyed the video. Keep warm everyone.
So lovely
Before the storms
We get all the major bonspiels on tv here. It is a great game!
Nothing in the world more peaceful. I have the snow and the gentle breeze but not the ocean. You have the trifecta!
Criminently! The weather’s unbelievable over there! Hang on!!!🙏
(Guess I’m going to have to start listening to the radio to keep up with the weather on the other coast!)
Lovely gentle ripples
So beautiful but it looks equally cold. I hope you have your woolies!
I love the way the snow covered tree moved with the wind! Stay warm!
Following the weather reports, I have wondered how you were impacted by the storms. Stay warm.
I'm assuming that today is not a soft day for you up there in the north? Stay warm and peaceful!

Do you curl? That's the only winter sport I can think of that one could do with those temperatures! Eeesh!
Not anymore and usually curling is done inside on refrigerated sheets of ice. I sure wouldn’t want to be outside curling in this weather.
Yes, I meant because it's inside. And no, with those winds the stones would be moving themselves!
lol! You are right about that! I loved curling when I did it and my brother in law and sister in law are in a small town and curl all the time.
I didn’t know about curling until ~1998? I could watch it on ESPN but it’s hard to see now. I wish I had grown up with it.
The only way I want to experience winter today! Thank you for showing the beauty of it!
Lovely - looks like us today, complete with the salt air and woodsmoke :-)
Stay warm! I’m praying for your power...
Sweet snow, so lovely!
