Good morning!
It’s Tuesday, and by the time you read this, the snow globe should have stopped its swirl. Whether you were in the eye of the blizzard or just watching people’s snow updates from afar, I hope you had a safe and enjoyable day yesterday.
Here in Maine, our view was blurred by blowing snow all day. The wind howled, the walls creaked, and the barn door went thud with each gust until it finally froze shut. Even Bear had no interest in going outside to shovel his mailbox—which was fortunate since the wind would’ve blown all the snow right back in his face.
No, twas far better to stay safely tucked indoors and to admire the world through a clouded window.
“Woken, I lay in the arms of my own warmth and listened
To a storm enjoying its storminess in the winter dark
Till my ear, as it can when half asleep or half sober,
Set to work to unscramble that interjectory uproar,
Construing its airy vowels and watery consonants
Into a love speech indicative of a proper name...”—W. H. Auden
Onwards,
Clara

31" here (atop a previous 27"); very happy the snow globe has stopped swirling! It seems like we'll be shoveling away until July 4th, though.
So jealous of all the snow on the East Coast. Here in Denver (and Colorado in general), we haven't gotten much at all this winter season, which is going to make for a very DRY summer! Stay warm!
