Good morning! It’s Saturday, and it’s one of my favorite and most auspicious days of the year: winter solstice! While our friends in the Southern Hemisphere might be slathering on the sunscreen and heading out to the beach, we’re lighting the candles and cranking up the cozy to welcome winter’s arrival.
Can’t recall a time when I’ve awaited this night with such longing. And just think of the incredible darkness in Victor Hugo’s world when he wrote these words. A good reminder of the potential for better times to come. Happy Solstice to you, Clara. I look forward daily to your whimsical views of nature and life along with your subtle but powerful words which have sustained me daily during this particularly dark time. 🙏🏻
Lovely. Even here in Arizona I overslept.
The longest night. Soon we will be able to see the light again, slightly longer each day. Love the quote!
A ray of hope
I look forward for the evening when I say ,Look it’s 5 and not dark yet!

A glorious Solstice to all!
Love thinking about the juxtaposition on the other side of the world!
Get the blankets, the cat and the knitting!
Happy Midwinter Day!
Neighbors are having a fire party. I’m all in.
