Good morning! It’s Saturday. Yesterday started with barely a whimper. But by early afternoon, the gusts had become so strong, they were playing our house like a cello.
I too had to look up Grosbeaks! The wind here (PA) created a power outage in our house for much of Friday and Saturday! I could not come up with a phrase to describe that so kindly 😉. Always love your daily emails!
Lovely observation about the grosbeaks finding refuge mid-storm. The collective noun "charm" is perfect for how they appear almost like a gift in chaos. I've noticed similar patterns with migratroy birds during unexpected weather, like they're reading atmospheric cues we can't percieve. That Pythagoras quote captures something real about learning to appreciate disruption instead of just enduring it.
What a great holiday Season gift for YOU❣️❣️❣️I don’t see evening grosbeaks very often, but every single time is SO wondrous, like a miracle, a gift, an honor❣️
Lucky grosbeaks, they found shelter at your place. We had the wind all night, but the power stayed on, only small sporadic outages in western New York. I heard there are tens of thousands without power in Maine. The folks at Brownville's Food Pantry for Deer are without power and on their backup generator today.💖😌
A very large chunk of our peninsula and the surrounding towns are still without power too. Bucket trucks have been driving by all day, some of them with new poles, so this really must've been a doozy.
You live in such a “charm”-ing area and have the most interesting visitors. I love hearing about all of them and imaging having them in one’s yard. That lamp is one of the most lovely lamps I’ve seen, it makes me want to find unique lamps to take the place of all of my utilitarian lamps.
The grosbeaks in a charm, the charm of a lamp, antique tools to the right, Pythagorean wisdom and charm. He was my favorite mathematician! Gagles of geese made their way home this week, to poop on the parks. Such noise upon their arrival!

Charm of grosbeck, murder of crows. Love learning what a group of same animals & other living beings called.
Windy here as well 🙌 it’s fine now. Impermanence. On we go
This is pretty wonderful
What a beautiful lamp! We think we have a couple of grosbeaks, too, but they come and go so quickly it's hard to tell.
Cool- charm of grosbeaks. I learned yesterday that the collective noun for blackbird is a cloud. . . A cloud of blackbirds😀

I learned something new today! I’d love to see those birds!

Love the lamp. For some reason it reminds me of my childhood and my Gramma Annie.
Lovely name, 'a charm,' but equally charming is your lamp. It looks like you, deep in a book. ❤️
I love it too!
