My absolute favorite time in the spring. When everything is coming back to life after the dark, dreary snow filled days and nights of winter. I love hearing them everywhere, on walks, in my yards, when I’m randomly out shopping. It’s so good.

So wonderful! We are too far from water to get anything like this! So very much a sign of spring!

What a wonderful evening chorus. I hope it is never shrill enough to crack your pretty candle holder.

Oh that’s so cool! Every once in a while we can hear some frogs off in the distance. At my old house they would show up a few times a year and always startled me when I would step outside.

I love that summer song! I heard peepers a few weeks ago and I couldn’t believe how early it seemed!

I love the peepers. I could listen to them all night long. If you listen closely, you might hear a low pitched gentle trilling sound. Those are common toads singing, a very soothing sound.💖😌🐸

I love peepers. But I also love candles--is that a Fostoria fairy light?

No, it's an old cut glass vase that belonged to my great grandparents. I'm not sure they ever put candles in it, but I do. 😊

Thank you, Clara, I went to bed later than I normally do, even though I’m a night owl. I kept clicking on the picture waiting for the sound to start. Wahh.. Finally realized that the link was above the picture. Loved the candle and the peepers mingling with my neighborhood birds. My windows have been open all week. Hit the low 80s in Michigan! Winter isn’t done with us yet. Possible rain snow mix on Monday. I’m soaking in the fresh air!

We do miss the cow pond at our old house, with the annual choruses! One spring our son brought a peeper into the house and put it in a small fish tank on the kitchen table. At dusk it began to sing and it was incredibly loud - as if the tiny frog were playing out house, like a string bass.

We all said - nature belongs outdoors!!!

They are tiny frogs but they can sing very loud.

I hadn’t thought of sleigh bells until you described it. Lovely! Stunning bowl!

Oh, the joy of it!

We were standing out on our porch last night listening to their "Ode To Joy". They were joined by the trilling of the toads, making for a full and beautiful chorus. My husband said, "this is the sound of life".

E.B. White quote is spot on, and why we love this time of year.

I love trilling of the toads too!
