Good morning!
It’s Friday. First it was the human visitors. Then went the migratory birds and butterflies. Now, it’s the garden’s turn to pack up and head out—not home, since that’s where they’ve been all summer, but to a new home, wherever that might be. It’s all up to the wind.
The milkweed isn’t quite done yet, but the thistle has outfitted its seeds with parachutes and is waiting for a splendid breeze to take them up, up, and away.
Are they sad or afraid?
No. For them, this is just the beginning.
“Sometimes letting things go is an act of far greater power than hanging on.”
—Eckhart Tolle

I remember the first time I saw a thistle. I was scurrying up the side of a hill on my Tata’s property in the mountains when I came across it. It was so totally out of place and looked so alien to me. I immediately sought out my Tata to show him the strange plant and he happily told me about thistles and how they spread. I was probably around 6-7. I haven’t thought about that memory in quite a long time and seeing today’s post really made me smile. I also totally agree with the quote today!
Beautiful picture of a beautiful plant!
