Good morning!
It’s Saturday, and we’re beginning the long, slow process of putting the garden to bed. The garlic, potatoes, and onions came out weeks ago. Yesterday we pulled out the last of the arugula and lettuce. The cucumber plants kept looking at us and sighing, so they, too, have joined the great compost pile in the sky.
Now comes the last of the green beans, which begs the question:
How many cans can a canner can
if a canner can can cans?
A canner can can
as many cans
as a canner can,
if a canner can can cans.
The correct answer: Four
“Everything that slows us down and forces patience, everything that sets us back into the slow circles of nature, is a help. Gardening is an instrument of grace.”

This is not about the daily message but rather about TO DYE FOR by Alden Wicker. It is a must read!!! Clara, do you know how we could contact Ezra Klein (New York Times)? I think he should feature her and her book on his podcast. The book really needs to be known by a very wide audience. I definitely what to participate on the Wool Channel. I am about to finish it and if I were to underline the bits I want to memorize I would probably have 75% of the text underlined!!
You are uncanny!🤣
