Today is Wednesday, and I have a video about silk that you didn’t realize you needed to see today.
In just six minutes and 49 seconds, you’ll go through the entire process of making a silk comforter—and I mean entire, from hatching the caterpillar eggs all the way to donning a pair of silk-stuffed pajamas.
This video is by Liziqi, whose YouTube channel has more than 25 million followers. It’s the best rabbit hole you could ever fall into, with similar end-to-end videos on everything imaginable—including making a wool coat.

Beautiful videos, thanks for introducing this! But also interesting to read about her rise in popularity, whether she is viewed as propaganda for the government (or not), and the nostalgia for rural life as a sort of cottagecore for the Chinese. Lots of different sides to the situation and ways to think about her videos. Still lovely, though.
