Good morning!

It’s Sunday. And for today’s nature respite, we’re heading down a neighbor’s dirt road to the far side of the cove. Their hill requires a commitment and four-wheel drive, though I’ve never dared try it in a car.

This is one of my favorite places to stand in early spring. There’s always a perpetual trickle from the pond to the swamp to the woods to the sea. But when the ice and snow start to melt, that trickle becomes a jubilant cascade to this very spot. And when that jubilant cascade coincides with a full moon, an exceptionally high tide, and a clear blue sky, there’s nowhere else in the world you could want to be.

“My wish is to stay always like this, living quietly in a corner of nature.”

—Claude Monet

Or, at a bare minimum, to stay like this for the next sixty-four seconds.

Onwards,

Clara
