Today is Saturday. Tomorrow marks a week since Spain ended its national state of emergency and three-month lockdown. The Barcelona Opera celebrated by reopening its Gran Teatre del Liceu for a performance by the UceLi Quartet.
The group performed Giacomo Puccini’s beautiful elegy, Crisantemi, to a full house.
Only instead of people, the audience was plants.
“Life is for the living.
Death is for the dead.
Let life be like music.
And death a note unsaid.”
All 2,292 plants will be donated to healthcare professionals at the Hospital Clínic of Barcelona.
I’m grateful to Tammy for sharing this one with me.
I’ll see you tomorrow,
