Love daisies! Unfortunately the ones that I had no longer show up! Time to get some more.

Our fields were absolutely filled with daisies this year, of several different varieties. I’ve never seen so many. It was glorious, and cheered me immensely on our walks. It’s been raining so much, they haven’t been able to cut the hay. I’m hoping they can do that soon.

Daisies are like violets, wild and special I think.

I LOVE daisies! Out in my “jungle” one small offering bloomed and a “helper” mowed it down. That was crushing to me. I do love my Volunteers and these daisies were special. After awhile (possibly the next year), many yards away, up sprang a huge CLUMP of daisies, as though someone had dumped a whole package of seeds on that spot at the edge of my jungle! HALLELUJAH ❣️❣️❣️ [Of course, this year they’re EVERYWHERE!👍]

That is a jar of cheerfulness, and don't you just love the way daisies thrive all by themselves?

I have to add—I just flashed back to when my oldest was three and the second a baby in a backpack when we lived in Omaha for a couple years. There was a lovely green park a couple blocks away, with a small playground surrounded by a nice expanse of grass with many mature trees. My next-door neighbor and I took our kids there one day in spring… first they played on the playground for a while with some other youngsters, but then they noticed the grass was full of tiny daisies… they left the swings and spent the next half hour finding daisies, picking bouquets, the older ones making daisy chains, all in companionable quiet. It was magical to watch. Renee and I exchanged delighted glances while watching silently so as not to disturb the moment. So vivid in my mind… so glad to remember this! Daisies do have magic.

Ahhh, daisies are my favorite. Cheerful, simple, unpretentious, friendly.

Do y'all remember Meg Ryan in You've Got Mail? Daisies were her favorite flower and of course Tom Hanks brought her a bouquet. I love that movie.

Ohhh I’d forgotten that! A man who paid attention… Now I want to watch it again.

And my favorite lines when Tom Hanks tells her buying out her independent bookstore was not personal is something like ‘not personal!! Maybe not personal to you but it was personal to me.’ How many times do people try to diminish our hurt feelings by telling us it’s not personal??? (Although I do realize one of the four agreements is to not take things personally — a struggle for me.)
