Good morning!
Today is Tuesday. And here in the Northern Hemisphere, it’s summer solstice. That’s when the sun’s path through the sky reaches its most northerly point relative to the celestial equator. I had to look that up. All I really know is that it’s the longest, lightest day of the year.
And yesterday, in pre-solstice daylight, our bear finally succeeded in making off with the bird feeder. For at least an hour afterwards, I could hear him in the woods banging at the thing to try and get it open.
Then again, maybe I heard it wrong. Maybe our bear was due to perform at a solstice eve party that the animals throw in the woods every year. And maybe he went looking for his drum set, discovered that a woodchuck had made off with it, and in a panic, grabbed my bird feeder to use instead. Who knows? I could look out my window right now and find it leaning against the tree with a thank-you note. Or better yet, an invitation to next year’s party.

The more I think about it, the more I think this must be what happened.
See you tomorrow,
Clara
I have to admit to some doubt about a forthcoming invitation but it would be nice to find the bird feeder. I’m thinking the birds would appreciate it. Maybe a high hanging variety which lowers for refilling? And, while I’m thinking of it, that Bear needs a good whack on the butt! 🤭
I totally think that’s what happened too!
