It’s Wednesday, and today’s outlier is even more of a marvel than our black-eyed Susan or that renegade potato plant in the garlic bed.
We’ve just returned from a jaunt to the busy metropolis of Portland, where this scene stopped me in my tracks. How did a seed manage to sprout and grow in such an impossible location? How many more such seeds are engaging in similar heroic acts all around us at this very moment? And might we, too, be capable of doing the same?
