Good morning! It’s Monday, and our world continues to be covered beneath a thick and inviting layer of snow. We donned the swishy snow pants and went for a tromp down the old dirt road.
E.B. White is one of my favorite writers; he always lifts me up. He is wise and has a keen but gentle humor. For some reason, I haven’t been getting your posts, but this morning they reappeared, and I am so happy to be back in the fold. On the bright side, I get to go back now and read what I have missed. Puzzled by the algorithms. I had a strong sense that I was missing a regular post, but I am recovering from a stroke and couldn’t bring up the memory. Your unique take on the world charms and delights me, and I am grateful.
Yes! It's been beautiful and treacherous. I got my first walk in since I fell in early December, and it felt great. I like exercising so much more in winter because I don't get too hot. Losing December was disappointing, but I hope to continue to feel better enough to walk again.
Beautiful picture❣️Looks like a painting. E.B. was surely correct about Maine winters! Ice-under-snow I experienced when I lived in Minnesota for a few years. Also, ice-all-over-everything! OMGosh!👎(Beautiful, tho.)
Sounds like an opportunity for a cozy fire, a cup of hot cocoa with marshmallows, and a good book and/or knitting project in your lap.
Also, E.B. White is one of my favorite writers. He writes with such wit, wisdom, and humanity. I wish he were around to help us make sense of this old world today.

E.B. White could be describing Northern Michigan, and I’m here for it. Glorious.

Jealous in Texas. It should not be brightly sunny and 73 at the beginning of January!
Wise move to turn around with all that ice! No need to have a fall!
That walk it’s self deserved extra marshmallows in the hot chocolate!!!

Good old E. B. White🥰
You keep me grounded out here in AZ where it was “cold” this morning at 49 degrees.
Enjoy!!!

Beautiful, but stay warm and cozy,
Gorgeous!
I love winter in mid-coast Maine. We’re all in it together…nobody really complains, we just adapt…it’s beautiful, peaceful and quiet.
Great and quote
Hibernation is a good option at this time of year
It is necessary to check the weather before planning anything else here in Alberta.
There is something about looking at a window and then for that to be followed by the quote by E.B. White.
