Good morning!

It’s Sunday, and we’re standing at the edge of the English Channel along the southern limits of the Côte des Havres and the northernmost limits of the Bay of Mont Saint-Michel, the only bay I know of that’s also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

That’s a lot going on in one body of water.

So I propose we focus our attention instead on the loveliness of this patch of beach that leads to yesterday’s saltwater swimming pool. We can stand here quite comfortably for a while, studying the shimmering wavelets and textured patterning in the sand, before the tide finishes its gallop and forces us to swim or retreat.
