Good morning!
It’s Wednesday, and our miracle poppy at the edge of the old cellar hole has returned, but with a surprise. Whereas last year’s flowers had a tender pink shade, this year’s petals are most decidedly coral in hue.
Did someone order the wrong bottle of tanning lotion? Is this what they call a wardrobe malfunction, or someone’s cow jumping the fence? Or is it yet another in Mother Nature’s perpetual stream of miracles and surprises, to which the proper response is simply, “thank you.”
“To live is so startling it leaves little time for anything else.”
—Emily Dickinson
“Thank you” it is!
Onwards,
Clara
Wow wow wow! What a great quote to go with my second favorite flower. Thx
I am SO GLAD for you❣️❣️❣️
I had dozens of red poppies year after year until last year, when ONE volunteer popped up in a large pot. This year, no one came. 😭
