Good morning!
It’s Saturday, and we’ve come for a walk along the Seine. Ostensibly we’ve paused to admire the Museé d’Orsay, home to the largest Impressionist and Post-Impressionist collection in the world. That’s what I’m looking at, anyway.
But Ducky is obsessed with that contraption in the water. The city has spent 1.4 billion Euros attempting to clean up a Seine that had gotten so notoriously nasty that they had to outlaw swimming.
While obviously not a key part of the water cleaning project, this floating funnel nevertheless collects larger bits of flotsam that might be floating past.
Ducky was thrilled by this because he, too, had been flotsam during that big storm. So we stood and looked to see if there were any other duckies caught in the junk. There weren’t, but we did see assorted plastic bottles, a rather shapely tree branch, and a soccer ball that has definitely seen better days.
“Someone who can search for something is happy. Searching gives a meaning to life. Nowadays it’s not so easy to find something you might be looking for. The most important thing, however, is the search itself, the way you take. It’s not so important where it leads.”
—Haruki Murakami

I've gotten curioser and curiouser as I've entered my "golden years" with an encyclopedia literally at my fingertips!
And yaaay the water does look much more "clear"👏🏻
That quote is helpful and comforting. And clearly Duckie has become an empath for the flotsam and jetsam of life, as are you. You make good companions.
